How long will it take to recover the debt?
This is difficult to predict as it is entirely dependent on the reaction of the person we are looking to recover your debt from and the turn-around time of the Court. In line with the pre-action protocol we would attempt to correspond with the debtor prior to issuing Court proceedings and a Letter of Claim would need to be issued. The debtor is allowed 30 days to return the information requested in this letter. If Court action is required then the Court usually takes 10 working days to process the Claim Form and the debtor has 14 days to respond (although they can request a further 14 days). The length of time will then be dependent on how the debtor responds to the Claim Form (if they do) and this will be fully explained to you prior to us taking Court action on your behalf.
